Travelling by airplane ?
The nearest Airport is the San Sebastian Airport located in Hondarribia, 30km (i.e. 25 min) from San Sebastian. This local airport is at the moment operated only by the IBERIA airline. The only direct flight connections provided are with Madrid and Barcelona. From the airport, the easiest way is to take a cab, which will cost you around 40 Eur, or a local bus (for approx. 2 Eur) to the centre of San Sebastian, which leaves once in an hour.Another airport, with several international connections (e.g. to London, Frankfurt, Milano) is the Bilbao Airport, i.e. the Loiu Airport. Reagional bus operator PESA is providing direct connection to San Sebastian, for the price of 15 Eur. The jurney takes approximately 1h 15min.
For airline connections from France (Easy Jet, Air France) and England (Ryan Air) one can also chose the Biarritz airport, located in France, 60 km from San Sebastian. The journy from there takes 45 min by car, following the highway. Nevertheless, there is poor bus connection between the airport and San Sebastian.
