DISCUSSION

I dont even know if my proposal qualifies as charge-shift, because it is a weak bond, but given the numerous noble-gas bonds found to belong to this category, I thought it could qualify as candidate.

My example comes from solid state chemistry under pressure. Arsenolite is formed by As4O6 cages. Under pressure, it amorphizases at ca 15 GPa for all pressure transmitting media (PTM) used. Except He, which is supporsed to be the most inert PTM! We have shown that He actually goes into the sample and establishes interactions with the surrounding As, estabilizing the sample and inhibiting amorphization!
